Australia finish with 285 for 7 in their 50 overs thanks to a solid 100 by Aaron at the top.
Australia however failed to capitalise on the start provided by Finch and Warner as England picked 6 wickets in the last 15 overs.
Australia lost Khawaja, Maxwell and Stoinis cheaply, before Carey (38 off 27) propped the total at the back-end. Smith was looking good too but played a false shot in the 46th over to be dismissed for 38 off 34.
Every England bowler chipped in with a wicket, while Woakes picked up two.
Stokes back in the attack to bowl the last over and after a dot, Starc taps the ball down to short cover and takes a single.
Stokes then bowls a slower bouncer before Carey clears the front leg and gets to the pitch of the ball and plays it over mid-off for a four.
Carey then gets a couple to deep mid-wicket.
Carey then makes room and cuts the ball through point for a four off the last ball of the innings.
Archer back in the attack and starts with a wide around the wicket to Carey.
Archer then fails to get his yorker, the ball was wide and Carey timed it well through covers for a four.
After two dots, including a bouncer, Carey digs out the yorker and gets a single to mid-wicket.
Starc then plays the yorker for another single.
Short ball and Carey plays it over the keeper to the third man boundary to end the over with a four as 11 come off the over.
