Pak 110-3 (25 ovs) vs NZ 237-6 | Scorecard

With no other spinner in the team, captain Williamson brings himself into the attack to bowl some part-time off-spin.

Azam taps the first ball on the off-side for one before Hafeez drives a wide delivery past point for two runs and gets a single as the cover fielder misfields.

Hafeez then throws it away as he holes out part-timer Williamson straight into the hands of Ferguson at deep midwicket to perish for 32.

Poor thinking from Hafeez as he gifts his wicket away when the need of the hour was to continue batting in the same vein and bat the Kiwis out of the game.

So the gamble to bring himself into the attack has worked wonders for Williamson and New Zealand.

Interestingly, this is the third time in the World Cup that Hafeez has fallen to part-time spinners having being dismissed by Australia's Aaron Finch and Aiden Markram.
