Kohli then offers no shot to wide deliveries before he clips the last ball through midwicket for three more runs as the runs keep flowing at a good rate.

Al-Amin bowls a maiden over to Kohli, who is content to defend everything with stumps round the corner.

Ebadat to bowl the final over of the day. Rahane also happy to bat for stumps as he blocks solidly getting confidently behind each and every delivery.

But Ebadat gifts him a full toss and Rahane needs no second invitation as he spanks it through the covers for a four.

India are well placed on 174 for three in 46 overs, for an overall lead of 68 runs.

Captain Kohli is unbeaten on a solid 59 from 93 balls, while Rahane has stroked his way to 23 from 22 balls as India dominated the opening day of their first-ever Test match with the pink ball.
