18:48   Mumbai Indians take on CSK as IPL kicks off in UAE

Welcome to the coverage of the Indian Premier League opening match between champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, in Abu Dhabi, on Saturday.

The 13th edition of IPL, which has been shifted to the UAE due to the COVID-19 outbreak in in India, will be played without fans across three venues -- Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Mumbai Indians will be hoping to continue the momentum after beating CSK in last year's final to win their fourth IPL title.

On the other hand, three-time winners CSK did not have an ideal pre-season when many people from their touring party, including two players,  tested positive for the COVID-19 upon arriving in the UAE.

A look at the teams would indicate that Mumbai Indians by a distance is the most formidable with Rohit, the Pandya brothers -- Hardik and Krunal --, the indomitable Kieron Pollard and the 'King of Death' bowling Jasprit Bumrah.

The perennial Dad's Army, Chennai Super Kings can never be counted out till that man with 'Hawk Eyes', Mahendra Singh Dhoni uses his peripheral vision behind the stumps.

Experience can't be bought and the likes of Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis and Ravindra Jadeja have given their blood and sweat for the 'Yellows' and it would be no different this time.
