Delhi Capitals openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan scored at a brisk rate at the start of the innings to give a good start in their pursuit of the 196-run target. Both Shaw and Dhawan belted the Punjab Kings bowlers to all parts of the ground. Shaw , however departed on 32 while Dhawan played a brilliant innings (92 off 49) but missed out on his century.

Meredith in attack now, Yadav powers the ball to the ropes for four runs. It is high full toss and no ball called. Yadav just manages a single off the free hit. Stoinis finishes the game in style with a boundary. Delhi Capitals win by six wickets. They are back to winning ways.

Jhye Richardson strikes again! Gets another big wicket of Pant. It took four attempts for Hooda at long-on to dismiss Pant. He is gone for 15 off 16 balls.

Mayank Agarwal and birthday boy KL Rahul put up a hundred run-stand and got the team off to a remarkable start. Captain Rahul made a well-calculated 61 runs off 51 balls while Agarwal also scored a fifty (69 runs off 36 balls).

Woakes is back, Hooda flicks it to long-on. No ball siren goes off. Gayle gets down on one knee and hammers the ball for six runs! Woakes strikes! Gayle powers the slower ball to extra cover, substitute RV Patel takes a simple catch to send Gayle back. He is gone for 11 off 9 balls. 

Avesh Khan continues, Rahul is dropped at extra cover by Marcus Stoinis. He is off balance and it pops out of his hands. Punished! Rahul clears the extra cover boundary for six runs! He flicks to long-on for a single. Gayle drives for a single. Rahul hammers the full toss to the ropes for four runs. He ducks under a bouncer. After 15 overs PBKS are 140-1.

Rabada is back, Agrawal hammers the ball over the long-off boundary for six runs! No respect for the best bowler in the world... Another six runs! He takes a single now. Steven Smith plays his first match of IPL 2021 as he makes his debut for Delhi Capitals along with left-arm seamer Lukman Meriwala.

Punjab have made one change as spin all-rounder Jalaj Saxena comes in for M Ashwin.

Siraj comes back into the attack. Tripathi continues his positive approach as he shuffles across and paddles the pacer over short fine leg for a four.

Two balls later, he lofts a length ball over the fielder at mid-on for another boundary to keep the runs coming for KKR in the early overs.

Sundar continues as Tripathi takes a single from the first ball before Rana lofts the second ball straight down the ground for a six, to take KKR past the 50-run mark, in the sixth over.

Rana chips down the track and hits Sundar square on the off-side but Siraj puts in the dive at point to save the boundary.

Tripathi sweeps the next ball over square leg for a four before Sundar strikes with the last ball.

Tripathi miscues the loft over the leg side and is caught by Siraj on the leg side to perish after scoring 25 from 20 balls.

KKR are reduced to 57/2 in six overs, needing 148 from 14 overs for victory.
