India 5-0 (2 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Rohit Sharma walks out to open with Shubman Gill, while the experienced Tim Southee will open the bowling for the Kiwis.

He looks for swing but the line is too straight as the full delivery on the pads is clipped through square leg by Rohit for three runs to get India off the mark.

The next ball is again down the leg side as Gill watches it go through to the keeper before the next ball which is pitched wide is left alone.

Another leg side followed by a wide delivery as Gill offers no shot. The last ball is full and on the stumps as Gill blocks it with utmost caution.

Left-arm pacer Trent Boult from the other end. The first ball rises sharply but is down the leg side as Rohit looks to glance but misses and wicketkeeper BJ Watling dives to his left to collect it.

The next ball is on the stumps as Rohit blocks before he gets an inside edge on the next. Gill has a close shave as he looks for the quick single but is sent back and manages to make his crease with a desperate dive.

Overpitched delivery from Boult as Rohit drives it straight down the ground through the vacant mid-off region for two runs.
