India 26-0 (7 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Gill continues to use his feet against the pacers to negate the swing as he takes a couple of steps down and defends Boult on the off-side.

Boult goes short and Gill, who is waiting on the backfoot, pulls it convincingly through midwicket for the first four of the WTC final.

Another short ball but this time quicker as Gill goes back and defends it back to the bowler.

Boult looks for the inswinger but slips it down the leg side with the keeper having to put in the dive.

In the next over, Rohit makes most of some width as he cuts Southee past point for his first boundary.

A few balls later, Rohit gets a streaky boundary as he gets a thick outside edge off a full delivery from Southee which goes along the ground past the slips for another four.

Southee gets his length right, as the ball bounces and moves away to beat the defensive poke from Rohit.

Another full delivery on the stumps as Rohit clips it to fine leg and comes back for the second run.

This is a positive start from India as they reach 26 for no loss in seven overs.
