Former India opener Sunil Gavaskar expects the seamers to be a handful on the surface, which means the team winning the toss could elect to bowl.

"The curator has shaved some grass but there is still a fair amount of grass on the surface which means the ball will certainly seam off the surface and also there is the overhead conditions which will help the ball swing," said Gavaskar in his pitch report for Star Sports.

"The seamers will be dominant than the spinners but if the sun comes out the spinners could come into play on Day 3 and 4."

"Try and leave as many deliveries as possible in the first half an hour. Try to take the quick single and get to the non-striker's end."
