Ind 122-3 (43 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Time for drinks now and after an hour of play in the second session, New Zealand have started well having taken out the two set batsmen.

Rahane is looking  good at one end while Shreyas tries to survive the rigours of Test cricket in his debut.

Offie Somerville back in the attack and after two dots, Shreyas plays the ball to square leg for a single.

Rahane then takes a long stride and blocks.

Rahane just content to just block here as just the one comes off the over.

Shreyas showing signs of frustration as he mishits a shot in the previous over of Patel, he survives but he needs to knock it around and play himself in instead of going big without thought.

Southee continues and after a dot, middle and leg stump ball and Rahane clips it to square leg for a couple.

Two dots, an inswinger later, Rahane defends again for a dot.

Another dot to end the over as just the two come off it.

Patel continues and after a couple of dots, Shreyas gets off the mark with an aggressive shot, although a risky shot that falls in no man's land, Shreyas off the mark with a couple.

Shreyas then plays two dots before a short ball is given the treatment as he pulls the ball fiercely through mid-wicket for a four as 6 come off the over.

Southee continues and Rahane nicely blocks the first two balls.

Rahane then gets the inside edge on to the pads but big shout for LBW and the umpire says not out. New Zealand take the DRS.

New Zealand lose the DRS as the  ball tracker shows the ball would have missed the stumps.

A block later, Southee bowls slow, short and wide and Rahane cuts it through point for a four.

Dot to end the over as 4 come off it.

Patel continues and after two dots, Rahane plays the ball square on the off side and the Indians take a quick three runs.

Iyer then sees off three dots safely as just the three come off the over.
