Sarfaraz Khan was patient with 40 off 125 and Shams Mulani 12 (43) played a perfect partner.At stumps on Day 1, after 90 overs, Mumbai are 248-5. Among the bowlers Anubhav Agarwal and Saransh Jain picked two wickets each. Kumar Kartikeya picked one.

Kartikeya kicks-off the final session of the day. Sarfaraz gets a couple. Four runs come off his over. Mumbai are 205-4 after 65 overs. Gaurav Yadav continues, loud appeal for LBW against Khan but umpire not interested. Meanwhile, Tamore slaps a boundary. After 69 overs Mumbai are 214-4.
Sarfaraz Khan is gaining his confidence. He is scoring well against the spinners and pacers. Anubhav Sharma over pitches the ball, straight on to the stumps and Sarfaraz drives it towards the cover region for a four runs. After 70 overs Mumbai are 218-4.
Hardik Tamore survives again as the slip fielder dropped him. Khan hammers the next to the ropes for four runs.
Saransh Jain comes in for Kumar Kartikeya and strikes! Tamore has run out of luck and has been caught by Rajat Patidar at slip. He walks back scoring 24 off 44 balls.
Mumbai are 228-5 after 5 overs. Shams Mulani is the new batter.

Hardik Tamore is the new batter. Danger evaded! Tamore tried hara-kiri when he tried to leave a ball alone but then played it. Keeper collected it but the umpire went upstairs. TV replay proves that the umpire was right. Mumbai are 197-4 after 62 overs. Gaurav Yadav is back into the attack, Tamore survives again! Edge and the keeper collects it again but with one bounce.
With this it is end the second session of Day 1. MP produced an impressive fightback. Mumbai are 201-4 with the man in form, Sarfaraz Khan batting on 16(37), and Hardik Tamore is on 13(19).
