India 124-1 (24 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Against the run of play, New Zealand strike with the wicket of the well-set Gill.

The India opener, who stroked 50 from 65 balls, clips Ferguson off his pads but straight into the hands of the fielder at deep square leg.

Gill walks back disappointed as he gives his wicket away with a loose shot as he played a controlled chip shot.

Gill put on 124 runs from 23.1 overs for the opening wicket with Dhawan to give India a good start.

Shreyas Iyer at No 3 and he gets a full delivery first up which he defends.

Two balls later, he makes room and looks to slash it past point but is beaten.

The slip is gone with a man placed at deep forward short leg in Iyer's vision with New Zealand making their intent quiet clear of bowling short to the right-hander.

Ferguson bowls full as Iyer defends and then keeps out a short ball on the off-side.

A wicket-maiden for Ferguson as he gives New Zealand the much needed breakthrough.
