Pacer Southee is back into the attack. Samson steers the first ball fine on the off-side for a single before Iyer is struck on the pads as he plays across the line to the full delivery which nips in.

Southee quite confident with the appeal but the umpire unmoved and New Zealand not interested in the review as the ball looked to be heading down the leg side.

Samson keeps strike with a single from the last ball.

In the next over, Samson does well to wait for the ball before opening the face of the bat to guide Milne fine on the off-side for a four.

A few balls later, Samson nudges Milne fine off his pads for another four and keeps strike with one from the last ball.

Iyer cuts loose in the next over. He powerfully pulls Southee for a four over midwicket and lofts the next over long-on for a six.

Iyer plays the pull shot for a single to deep square leg and Samson quietly collects another single to race to 21 from as many balls.

Iyer again takes on the short ball from Southee but this time he miscues it as the ball lands safely over midwicket for two runs, also raising the 50-run stand for the fifth wicket from 43 balls.

37 runs from the last four overs as Iyer and Samson looking to lift the tempo.
