Batting has become much easier now with the sun coming out. Thakur from round the wicket gives some width as Warner plays a beautiful drive through the covers for a four, to take his score into the 40s.

Against the run of play, India strike with the key wicket of Warner. The left-hander looks to pull the short ball which is down the leg side but gets the edge and is caught by wicketkeeper Bharat.

Warner worked hard in the morning session but failed to carry on as he walks back after scoring 43 from 60 balls.

That was a harmless short ball down the leg side as Warner looked for some easy runs to fine leg but ended up getting the edge.

That is an important wicket for India so close to the lunch break on Day 1.

Steve Smith shuffles across and offers no shot to the first ball he faces. The wicketkeeper is up to the stumps but Smith clips the next ball to square leg for a single to get off the mark.
