We're trying to stay as balanced as possible, trying to enjoy the game. Quinton misses out, Arshin Kulkarni is in. Mayank (He's bowled really well in the couple of games he's played and me as a captain its important to have in the team, so I've been pushing the physios. It's important he gets enough time in the nets."

18:36   LSG look to bounce back against MI
Hello & welcome to tonight's live coverage of match no. 48 of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. In tonight's IPL match, Lucknow Super Giants will host Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Sports City Stadium.

After the disappointment over not getting picked for the T20 World Cup, KL Rahul would be hoping to bounce back with a good showing with the bat when LSG host MI.

Rahul's strike-rate in T20 cricket, which has always been a bone of contention, proved to be the crucial factor. Despite the advantage of field restrictions in the Powerplay, Rahul has often started his innings on a slow note in the IPL. However, the LSG captain has managed to change  gears this season.

In IPL 2024, he has scored 378 runs at a strike rate of 144.27 but it is still less than that of Rishabh Pant (160.60) and Sanju Samson (161.08), who were both picked in the World Cup team.

While comeback man Pant sealed the first wicketkeeper's spot in the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean islands and the United States in June by displaying some sharp work behind the stumps and sensational knocks with the bat, Samson got his place by playing match-winning knocks for Rajasthan Royals at a brisk pace.

LSG were handed a seven-wicket loss by Rajasthan Royals, who chased the 197-run target with six balls to spare. The onus will also be on the team's big hitting troika of Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran to hit those towering maximums and get match-winning totals as the race for the play-off heats.

They will fancy their chances against a struggling Mumbai bowling unit which was carted all over the park by the Delhi Capitals batters in their previous game.

MI bowlers struggled to find answers against young Jake Fraser-McGurk, who wreaked havoc in the Powerplay.

Mumbai Indians find themselves in a precarious position sitting ninth on the points table. They need to win all their matches to keep their slim hopes alive.

Stay tuned as we bring you all the action. Toss at 7:00pm IST.
