Bashir to bowl the final over of the session. Patidar is half forward trying to defend and is struck on the pads but the leg before shout is turned down as the impact is clearly outside the line.
Bashir goes round the wicket. He bowls a full delivery which Patidar straight back past mid-off for two runs and he blocks the last ball of the session.
At tea on Day 1, India are well-placed on 225/3 in 63 overs.
India took the honours in the post-tea session, scoring 122 runs in 32 overs for one wicket.
Jaiswal led the charge for India with the bat with an unbeaten 125 from 185 balls, hitting 14 fours and three sixes.
Debutant Patidar has looked quite comfortable scoring 25, with the duo putting on 46 runs so far for the fourth wicket.
