Jaiswal launched his innings with a fiery start in the very first over, smashing Ngarava for 15 runs. From that moment onward, the left-hander asserted his dominance, while Gill provided steady support. They combined to score 61 runs during the powerplay, propelled mainly by Jaiswal's aggressive strokeplay. 

As the innings advanced, Gill too joined the boundary fest, relentlessly adding to the pressure on the Zimbabwe bowlers. 

The Indian openers diminished the bowlers with their aggressive approach.

M. Faraz Akram is brought into the attack. Gill and Jaiswal exchange singles initially. Jaiswal then gets a couple of runs followed by slamming a boundary. Two more singles end the over. 10 runs came off it. After 13 overs, India are 128-0.

Chatara comes into the attack. Gill pushes for no run on the first ball and then gets a couple off the next delivery. He swings and misses but makes contact with the following ball, slamming it for a boundary! Gill follows it up with a single. A dot ball ends the over. 7 runs came off it. 

After 14 overs, India are 135-0. They need 18 runs off 36 balls.

Ngarava is back into the attack. Jaiswal welcomes him with a huge six, his first of the innings! He follows it up with a single. Gill misses the next delivery but manages to play the ball towards long-on for a single. Jaiswal also takes a single. A dot ball ends the over. 9 runs came off it. After 11 overs, India are 115-0. They need 38 runs from 54 balls.

Muzarabani returns to bowl. Jaiswal defends the first three deliveries. Gill and Jaiswal then collect just three runs from the over. After 12 overs, India are 118-0. They need 35 runs from 48 balls.

M. Faraz Akram is back into the attack. Gill and Jaiswal manage to score just two runs in this over. After 8 overs, India are 73-0.

Raza continues. Jaiswal finds the gap and picks up two runs. He sends the next delivery back to the bowler. Jaiswal then slams a boundary and follows it up with a single. Gill joins the party, hitting a six! A single ends the over. 14 runs came off it. After 9 overs, India are 87-0, needing 66 runs from 66 balls.

Gill slams another boundary, bringing up 100 runs for India. Another boundary follows! Two easy singles end the over. 19 runs came off it.

Raza introduces himself into the attack now. Jaiswal is beaten off the first delivery. He flicks the next to point for no run. Jaiswal then slams a boundary, bringing up his fifty in just 29 balls! He plays towards square leg for a single. Gill also takes a single. Jaiswal deals in boundaries again, hitting four to end the over. 10 runs came off it.

After 7 overs, India are 71-0.

Ngarava returns to bowl. Jaiswal cuts to deep point for a single. Gill looks for a quick single but is sent back in time. He flicks the next delivery towards midwicket for a single. Jaiswal is beaten by the last ball. The over yields just 3 runs. After 5 overs, India are 56-0.

Muzarabani is also brought back into the attack. Jaiswal edges one but manages to get two runs. Gill looks for a single but is sent back by Jaiswal. He cuts for two more runs. A single is tapped down for by Jaiswal. Gill defends the last two balls. The over brings 5 runs. After 6 overs, India are 61-0.

Chatara comes in to bowl. Jaiswal goes after him and slams back-to-back boundaries. He swings and misses the next delivery but follows it up with another boundary towards the off side! Jaiswal is on fire, dealing only in boundaries! No runs off the next delivery. Another boundary to end the over.

Gill and Jaiswal kick off India's innings. Ngarava takes the ball for Zimbabwe. Jaiswal starts with a quick double through cover and point to open his account. He defends the next delivery and then sends the third one back to the bowler. Back-to-back boundaries follow for Jaiswal! It's exactly the start India needed. A wide down the leg side is called, followed by another boundary to wrap up the over.

Zimbabwe made a strong start with an opening partnership between Marumani and Madhevere, but faltered during the middle overs. However, they recovered well in the final phase, scoring 85 runs in the last 10 overs to reach 152 for 7. 

Sikandar Raza played a pivotal role with a quick-fire 46 off just 28 balls, steering Zimbabwe past the 150-run mark. The question now looms whether this total will be sufficient on what appears to be a favorable batting surface. 

Khaleel comes to bowl the last over. Myers misreads the ball and is caught and bowled by Khaleel. Dion Myers departs for 12 off 13 balls.

Deshpande is back into the attack. Myers plays towards covers for a single. Raza shows excellent batting skill, picking up two runs. He mistimes a shot and skies it; Gill patiently takes the catch. Raza departs for 46 off 28 balls. It's a maiden wicket for Deshpande!

Washy Sundar continues. Myers and Raza deal in singles. Raza slams another maximum! They continue with singles for the rest of the over. 13 runs came off it. After 16 overs, Zimbabwe are 111-4.

Khaleel is back. Myers gets two due to a misfield. A slower ball earns him a single. The next delivery goes down the leg side, wide called. It's a no-ball. Bennett hits a boundary! Free hit, and it goes for six! Raza is on fire, having scored 41 off 23 balls. Two more singles to end the mammoth over. 18 runs came off it. After 17 overs, Zimbabwe are 129-4.

Bishnoi is back, and he restricts the flow of runs. Raza defends the first three balls, a rarity in this match, and then plays towards point for a single. A rare bad ball from Bishnoi goes to the ropes for a boundary. A wide is called, and two more singles end the over. 9 runs came off it. After 18 overs, Zimbabwe are 138-4.

Abhishek comes for his third over, Bennett and Raza look far more confident now. After a couple of singles, Raza slams the first six of the match! A single to end the over. 10 runs came off it. After 13 overs, Zimbabwe are 89-2.

Washington Sundar is here, Raza and Bennett steal a single each. Bennett sends it straight into the hands of Jaiswal at extra cover. He departs after scoring 9 off 14 balls. Johnathan Campbell is the new batter and he gets off the mark with a single. 4 runs and a wicket came off the over. After 14 overs, Zimbabwe are 93-3.

Ravi Bishnoi is back into the attack. Campbell and Raza deal in singles. There's a direct hit from Ravi Bishnoi and Campbell is out! Miscommunication all around and Campbell is run out for the second time in the series. He departs for 3 off 3 balls. Myers is the new batter and he gets off the mark with a single. 5 runs and 1 wicket came from it after 15 overs. Zimbabwe are 98-4.

Raza is the new batter. Abhishek continues, Bennett cuts for a single. Raza defends two deliveries and then gets a single off the next. Dropped by Gaikwad at cover! Bennett gets a lifeline! India's fielding hasn't been at its best today. Raza ends the over with a single. 4 runs came off it. After 11 overs, Zimbabwe are 71-2.

Shivam Dube continues, Raza slams a boundary now! He follows it with a single. Three more runs come off the over. 8 runs came off it. After 12 overs, Zimbabwe are 79-2.

Shivam Dube is brought into the attack now. Bennett defends the first two deliveries and then plays towards deep for a single. Madhevere slams a single past Dube. Bennett adds another single. Wesley Madhevere departs after a stunning catch from Rinku Singh. He goes after scoring 25 off 24 balls. 3 runs and a wicket came off the over.

India bring in their fifth bowler, Abhishek Sharma. Madhevere plays towards deep cover for a single. Marumani picks up a couple more.

Bishnoi continues, Madhevere plays towards cover for no run. He drives towards deep for a single. Beaten by the googly! There's a shout for LBW and it's given! Zimbabwe opt to review. Washington Sundar continues, Marumani manages to get past Jaiswal and will pick up two runs. That brings up fifty for Zimbabwe. Marumani celebrates with a boundary! He adds two more runs. Zimbabwe openers are on fire! This is the highest opening partnership for Zimbabwe against India in T20Is. Two more runs to end the over. 10 runs came off it. After 8 overs, Zimbabwe are 58-0.

Deshpande continues, and Marumani drives to point for no run. Marumani slams a beautiful boundary! He follows it up with a single. A delivery going down the leg side is called wide. Madhevere defends the next two balls and ends the over with another boundary. 10 runs came off the over. After 4 overs, Zimbabwe are 35-0.

Spin is introduced, and can Bishnoi provide a breakthrough? Marumani defends the first two deliveries. He manages to find a gap and dispatches a boundary. Marumani defends the remaining balls of the over. After 5 overs, Zimbabwe are 39-0.

Washington Sundar is brought into the attack now. Madhevere cuts to point for no run. He is beaten! Marumani attempts a reverse sweep but misses completely. The batters exchange a single each. Marumani manages to get a couple to end the over. 5 runs came off it. At the end of the powerplay, Zimbabwe are 44-0.

Debutant Tushar Deshpande comes in from the other end. Marumani swings and misses the first ball but gets off the mark with a couple on the next. He flicks the following delivery towards the off side for a single. Madhevere continues dealing in boundaries, hitting another four this over. He plays towards midwicket for no run. Another boundary to end the over! 

11 runs came off the second over. After 2 overs, Zimbabwe are 15-0.

Khaleel Ahmed continues, and Marumani defends the first ball. The next delivery is going down the leg side and is called wide. Marumani defends the following ball. An overthrow yields 5 runs for Zimbabwe! Dropped! Dube didnt anticipate it well. Things aren't going well for Khaleel in this over. Deshpande does well to stop the last ball, and Marumani gets just one run.

Young Indian stars will be eager to usher in a new era in the shortest format with a series victory when they face Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I in Harare on Saturday.

After an unexpected defeat in the first match, the Shubman Gill-led side rediscovered its mojo in the second and third games to take a 2-1 lead with comprehensive wins.

Under the existing cricketing landscape, a series win over Zimbabwe will not rank high in the pecking order, but it will certainly spark ambitions inside some young players who are keen to take the team forward post the retirement of some modern-day greats.

None provide more compelling cases of that scenario than Washington Sundar and Abhishek Sharma.Post the retirement of Ravindra Jadeja from T20Is, Washington is eyeing the spin-all-rounder slot and the Tamil Nadu man has shown some promising signs against Zimbabwe, taking six wickets at a fine economy of 4.5.

The 24-year-old has given this Indian side the option of a bowler flexible enough to operate inside and outside the Power Play, and a handy lower-order batter, who if the need arises, has the technique to come up the order as well.

Abhishek bludgeoned a 47-ball hundred in the second T20I here, underscoring the hope around him as a long-term India material.Abhishek will hope to further buttress his claim for the other vacant top-order spot, for which there are other strong contenders in Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad, with a bruising knock against the African side here on the morrow.

But this is not to say that some of the more established names such as Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube have nothing to gain from this series.

They linked with the squad here after taking part in India's victory parade in Mumbai post the T20 World Cup triumph, where they had limited or little role in that epochal run.

So, the remaining two matches of this series will be an opportunity for Dube and Samson to keep themselves in the front row of players who will carry India into the future, producing some valuable efforts.

Indian management will also be pleased by the outing of their bowlers, particularly that of leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, whose googlies were indecipherable for the home batters.
