Siraj start the proceedings with the ball, Salt on strike. Salt misses the first delivery, no run taken. However, he follows up by smashing the ball into the stands for a six! He continues his onslaught with a boundary. Salt then takes a single, rotating the strike. 

Narine also gets off the mark with a single. Salt concludes the over with another massive six!

Starc steps up for the final over. Kohli starts with two quick singles, pushing hard for a second and narrowly making it despite a direct hit at the striker's end. Kohli then unleashes a mighty six, sending the ball soaring into the stands! An easy single follows for Kohli. He continues his onslaught, clipping the ball away for another six using the pace of the delivery. With a fielder present, he settles for a single. On the last ball, Kohli, still at the crease, swings and misses. 

DK attempts a run but falls short of his ground. He's run out for a blistering 20 off 8 balls.

Varun Chakravarthy persists with his bowling. Maxwell plays it down the leg side for a single. Kohli then unleashes a massive six, followed by a single, which brings up his well-deserved fifty! Maxwell joins the party by slamming a boundary, followed by another one, making it back-to-back boundaries for Maxi! A single to end the over.

Kohli also adds just one to the total. Roy continues to be effective, conceding only three runs in the over.

Narine also continues, Kohli flicks one towards long-on, adding a single to the tally. Green follows suit, slapping the ball towards point for a single of his own. Kohli then takes two quick singles, bringing up the 50 partnership between the two batsmen. Kohli defends the next delivery and then smashes the following one into the crowd for a mighty six runs! However, the next delivery yields no runs as Kohli sends it back towards the bowler. 

The over accumulates 10 runs in total. At the end of 8 overs, RCB stands at 74-1.

The remainder of the over is defended by Green. Just 3 runs come off it, proving the decision to bring in Anukul to be effective in stemming the flow of runs.

Sunil Narine is introduced into the attack. Kohli takes a quick single off the first ball. Green drives towards long-on but fails to find the gap. He then punches towards cover, unable to score. However, Green swiftly changes the momentum with consecutive boundaries, first with a swing that races to the boundary and then ending the over with a massive six.

17 runs come off the over, propelling RCB's total to 34-1 after 3 overs.

Though the square shows some wear, the outfield is lightning fast. While the boundaries aren't massive (61 meters on the sides, 75 meters down the ground), it's a haven for six-hitters.
