Sanjay Dutt's life has been full of ups and downs. If he had a blockbuster Munnabhai series to his credit, he also has a six-year prison term to deal with.
It seemed like history repeating itself, when he made his way to jail for the third time on July 31.
BBC Channel 4's documentary called Sanjay Dutt: To Hell And Back chronicles Dutt's struggle.
It presents pictures from his childhood and adolescence, and also pictures of his mother, Nargis. The second part of the documentary shows the events leading up to his arrest.
