Chennai Super Kings beat the Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs thanks to outstanding bowling by their spinners.

Chennai shifted gears after being 77 for three at the halfway mark and added 57 runs in the next five overs though also losing the wicket of Raina.

Raina faced 21 balls from which he hit two fours and an equal number of sixes.

Subramaniam Badrinath smashed a 34-ball 45, inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes, before Chennai lost a flurry of wickets in the end to finish on 163 all out in their 20 overs.

Delhi started disastrously losing two wickets for 20 in the fourth over with both opener Gautam Gambhir (13) and AB de Villiers (0) falling to left-arm spinner Sudeep Tyagi.

Warner's dream debut

Debutant David Warner led Delhi's fightback with a blazing half-century.

Warner showed why he is considered a dreaded Twenty20 batsman as he hit three fours in three balls off Albie Morkel in the fifth over.

He made 51 from 40 deliveries, with five boundaries and a six, but his dismissal saw Delhi lose their way.

Jakati turns it Chennai's way

Left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati was Chennai's hero with the ball as he claimed four wickets for 24.

Jakati claimed Delhi's twin half centurions David Warner (51) and Dinesh Karthik (52), besides in-form Tillakaratne Dilshan (13) to help the Mahendra Singh Dhoni's side their third win in seven matches in the tournament.
