With the Wankhede stadium pitch expected to offer a lot of assistance to the spinners, India have opted to play with three spinners.

Pacer Umesh Yadav failed to recover from his back injury and was replaced by off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, which means Zaheer Khan will be the lone pace bowler in the team.
