It has began to drizzle as well. And umpires have decided to go off the field.

The second wicket partnership is broken by Kallis when he traps Marsh (38) leg before. 

Marsh's 40-ball innings was inclusive of four boundaries and a six and he helped Katich put on 70 runs in 59 balls. 

Mitchell Marsh replaces his older brother.

Lakshmipathy Balaji into the attack in the seventh over.

Abdulla puts down Katich (on 17) again off the fourth ball. Eight runs come off the over, with Katich hitting a boundary over backward point.

Yusuf Pathan ends an economical spell with figures reading 4-0-29-0 though Marsh does manage a maximum in his last over, that costs KKR 17 runs.

Perth 72 for one after 10 overs.

Simon Katich comes out to replace Gibbs. Yusuf Pathan to share the new ball. He concedes four runs first up.

Marsh hits a superb boundary past point off Lee's second over to ease the pressure.

Sunil Narine is introduced into the attack in the fourth over and Marsh smashes the last ball for a boundary.

Jacques Kallis replaces Lee (2-0-11-1) in the attack in the fifth over and is unfortunate as Abdulla puts down Katish (on 3) off the first ball. The batsman expresses his gratitude by hitting a couple of boundaries.

Perth 38 for one after six overs.

Shaun Marsh and Herschelle Gibbs open the batting for Perth and it will be Brett Lee first up for Kolkata.

Lee strikes with his fifth ball, having Gibbs (0) caught by Abdulla.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and invited Perth Scorchers to bat first in their Champions League T20 match in Durban on Wednesday.

"We had a discussion with Jacques (Kallis) and who knows better about the wicket than him," reasons captain Gautam Gambhir. 

His opposite number, Marcus North, though differed.

"It is a bat first wicket," he said.

What a batting effort by the Lions!!

Symes showed great composure in the closing stages as he smashed 39 from 23 balls, hitting five fours, changing gears rapidly towards the end to take his team home.

Bodi starred with the bat, with his blazing innings of 64 from 46 balls, while McKenzie contributed with a steady 32 from 34 balls.

Bollinger was Chennai's best bowler with two for 18 in four overs, but the spinners struggled big time. Ashwin gave away 42 runs in his four overs and Jadeja was hit for 20 in three overs and pacer Albie Morkel went for 35 runs in 3.3 overs.

Albie Morkel to bowl the final over. Morris hits it to extra cover fielder for a single to make it 8 needed from 5 balls.

Symes then slaps it powerfully back past the bowler as the long-off fielder has no chance of getting close to it and it is a boundary!!!! 4 from 4 balls.

Symes smashes it over midwicket for another boundary to finish off the match in grand style.

Lions stun IPL powerhouse Chennai by six wickets to hand them their second defeat in a row in the tournament.

Morris drives the first ball from Hilfenhaus down to long-off for a single. Symes gets a thick outside edge as he throws his bat at a wide delivery and it goes for a boundary with the thirdman positioned square.

Symes skies it on the off-side courtesy of another thick outside edge but it falls in the vacant space near the point region but they get another two runs.

Symes then crashes it through midwicket where another good piece of fielding from the fielder running to his left from long-on saves two runs.

Bollinger then makes a good stop at thirdman to keep it down to one before Morris strokes it to extra cover for one.

Bollinger is back and Chennai need a tight over from him to swing things their way. The first ball is a full toss which Symes strokes to the covers for one.

Morris chips a full toss and it goes on the bounce to extra cover for another single.

Symes then chips it over point for a couple before slapping it over midwicket for a boundary.

The next ball is hit straight to the point fielder as Lions get just a single from that ball and Morris gets one from the last ball.
