Southee was single-handedly responsible for New Zealand's good showing with the ball. The pacer took seven for 64 in 24 overs to help bowl out India for 353 and trigger a lower order collapse on day three.

India scored 70 runs for the loss of five wickets in 18.5 overs on day three before they were bowled out. At one point, they lost four for 19 before the last pair of Ashwin and Yadav added some useful runs.

The match is evenly poised at the moment with New Zealand managing a lead of just 12 runs.
