At one stage, Pakistan were comfortably placed at 113 for three in 34 overs but they lost their way from that stage. They lost their last seven wickets for 44 runs in 14.5 overs to end up on the losing side.
Jadeja was instrumental in India's comeback in the latter stages, taking one for 19 in ten overs. Shami Ahmed shone on his debut, claiming one for 23 in nine overs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two for 31 in 10 overs.

Hafeez then attempts to play the paddle scoop but Ishant tries a slower ball which is a huge wide on the off-side. The next ball is again wide and full and Hafeez chips it over point for a boundary. 18 needed from 10 balls.
The next ball is again short of length and Hafeez pulls it through midwicket for a couple. 16 needed from 9 balls.
The fifth ball is in the slot, a half volley outside the off-stump which Hafeez lofts over the cover for a boundary. 12 from 8 balls.
Ishant then bowls a beamer, a high full toss, which Hafeez hits straight to the short fine leg fielder. Irfan has charged down to the batting end and is sent back but Ishant fails to break the stumps after getting the throw from the fielder. 11 needed from 8 balls.
Hafeez looks to chip over the leg side but is caught at midwicket by Yuvraj as India snatch an unlikely victory.

Debutant Ahmed bowling under pressure here. The first ball is in the channel and Ajmal is beaten as he tries to play it through the off-side. The next ball is again outside the off-stump which Ajmal tries to steer to thirdman but gets an edge to Dhoni to gift Ahmed his first wicket in international cricket.

And Pakistan throw away another wicket. Junaid Khan hits it on the off-side where Raina makes a diving stop at short cover but the batsman is halfway down the pitch before he is sent back by Hafeez. Raina gathers himself and hits the wicket at the batsmen's end to effect a run out as Pakistan slip further.
What a remarkable turnaround from the Indian bowlers!!
The tall Mohammad Irfan drives the first ball to mid-off and this time the Pakistan don't attempt a run.
Irfan lets the next ball go through to the keeper as Ahmed continues to move the ball away while blocking the final ball of that over.
Ahmed bowls a wicket maiden, his fourth of the innings, and his figures now read one for 23 in in nine overs which include four maiden overs. Take a bow young man!

Ishant replaces Shami Ahmed to bowl the 47th over which means the young Bengal pacer will bowl the 48th and 50th over.
The first ball is on the mark and Gul taps it back to the bowler. He has had enough and chances his arm but holes a catch to Jadeja at long-on as Pakistan losing their grip on the match.
Gul is dismissed for a strange knock of 11 from 28 balls with Pakistan needing 24 from 22 balls for victory with three wickets in hand now.
Pakistan in danger of throwing this match away from a position where they should they registered an easy victory with lots of overs to spare. But strange things happen in cricket and credit to the Indian bowlers for never losing hope.
New batsman Saeed Ajmal hits the third ball to the cover fielder and then looks to pull the next ball but misses it and hits his body for a bye on the off-side.
Hafeez is beaten outside the off-stump as Ishant gets it leave the right-hander.
What a superb over from Ishant, just a single and the wicket of Gul.

Jadeja comes on to bowl his final over. Gul cannot find the gaps off the first four balls as Jadeja bowls it flat and straight. The fifth ball is on the pads as it hits Gul on the pads and they sneak a quick leg bye.
The last ball turns and spins and Hafeez is beaten all ends up. Jadeja ends a good spell of one for 19 in ten overs and has played a big role in keeping India alive in this contest.

Ahmed will bowl in a pressure situation with 27 needed from 36 balls for victory. The first ball is hit to point for no runs but Hafeez gets the second ball in the gap and gets two runs before Ishant can field at sweeper cover.
The third ball is on the spot and Hafeez can only defend it back to the bowler as he does with the next delivery. He then tries to force it through the off-side but Kohli makes a good stop at point to keep Hafeez on strike before the last ball is also hit back to the bowler.
Just two runs from the over as Pakistan make it tight with 25 needed from five overs for victory.

Hafeez plays Ashwin to the off-side for one. Gul plays a dot ball before turning it to deep midwicket for one. Hafeez steers it behind point for another single.
Ashwin then has a very close appeal for LBW against Gul turned down by umpire Sudhir Asnani. Gul missed the straight ball and was hit on the back leg and that was as plumb as any LBW you would get but umpire Asnani got it wrong.
Ashwin finishes with ordinary figures of two for 47 in ten overs on a wicket where all the batsmen struggled for runs. A better performance from Ashwin could have well put India in a much better position but he disappointed yet again as he has been in all his recent games.

Ahmed bowls a good length to Gul who defends the first three balls. The third ball is short and wide and Gul times it perfectly past the point fielder for a boundary. Ahmed giving away a boundary each in his last two overs to help Pakistan release the pressure.
He shows some anger hitting Gul with a quick bouncer that strikes him on the helmet and the young Ahmed even has a few words to tell the batsmen after that blow.

It is the last over of Batting Powerplay and Pakistan looking to attack Jadeja. Hafeez tries to loft it over the off-side but mistimes it and it goes on the bounce to the fielder at long-off.
Akmal's impatience finally costs him his wicket. He gives Jadeja the charge but the spinner beats him and Dhoni completes the stumping to dismiss Akmal for 25 and make the match more interesting.
Pakistan's tail begins as Umar Gul walks out to bat. India will be looking to keep it tight and force the batsmen into mistakes.
Gul plays three dot balls to end the over in which Jadeja has conceded just a single while picking up a wicket. His figures read one for 19 in nine overs.
Pakistan need 43 runs from 10 overs for victory with four wickets in hand. They lost two for 12 in the last five overs to give India some hope.

Ishant Sharma is back into the attack despite Ashwin picking up a wicket in his previous over. The first ball is a bit short and Malik hits it behind point for a boundary.

Mohammad Hafeez, who injured his left thumb in the field, walks out to bat at No. 6. He gets a thick outside edge off the fifth ball to get off the mark.
India have taken two wickets for seven runs in the last three overs to keep themselves in the hunt.

Malik keen to get off the mark trying to find the gap through the off-side. He plays a good drive off the fourth ball but Yuvraj makes a diving stop and stops the runs. He tries to cut the next ball but it comes back and bounces to hit his gloves.
An impatient Malik chips the next ball over the cover region for a single.

Against the run of play, Ashwin gets another wicket. Misbah must be annoyed with himself as he hits a full delivery on the pads straight into the hands of Rahane at leg slip to be dismissed for a steady knock of 39 from 82 balls.
But Pakistan are still in control and they now need 55 runs in 95 balls for victory.
India need a few more wickets in succession to make a match out of this. New batsman Shoaib Malik is cautious to start off and watchfully plays the first three balls he faces. Ashwin then bowls the quicker ball that goes straight and Malik is beaten outside the off-stump.

Pakistan are 22 for two in 10 overs. At the same stage, India were 38 for three.

Another disappointing batting performance from the Indian team as they don't even last the 50 overs. Raina (31) and Dhoni (36) were the only two batsmen to get past the 30-run mark while the rest struggled again to come to grips with the variety that the Pakistan bowling line-up had to offer.
Ajmal finishes with career best figures of five for 24 bettering his previous best of five for 43.
At this stage, Pakistan are the favourites to make it a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series.

Three balls later Ishant chips it to long-on as it bounces a few times before the fielder stops it and Jadeja gets one to the same region.
Ishant tries another big shot but fails to get enough connection as Ajmal comes up with a good catch on his follow through. Ishant is dismissed for five to give Ajmal his fourth wicket.

Ajmal strikes again, in his seventh over. The ace off-spinner bowled the doosra which Kumar didn't pick up at all as he tried to play across the line on the leg side but missed and was trapped leg before wicket for two.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar defends the first ball to the covers before Gul gets it to reverse swing and strikes the youngster on the pads but the ball is sliding down the leg side and umpire turns down the LBW appeal.
Two balls later Kumar tries to cut a short ball but gets an edge which is spilled by Younis at first slip as Akmal distracts him by diving in front of him. And to add salt to injury the ball hits the helmet behind the stumps to give India five extra runs. Kumar then taps it on the leg side for a single and Jadeja defends the last ball of that over.

Ajmal continues to bowl as Pakistan will look to bowl out India as soon as possible. Jadeja plays four dot balls before stroking it down the ground where the long-off fielder runs around and makes a good stop to keep it down to two.

14:42 Dhoni out for 36, India in tatters:

India have taken the Batting Powerplay at the end of the 34th over. Perhaps Dhoni will look to take on the bowlers and somehow take his team past the 200-run mark.
He slaps the first ball from Gul to the covers but cannot beat the fielder there. Dhoni flicks the second ball past the short fine leg fielder for a boundary as Gul comes under some punishment again.
However, Gul gets his revenge as Dhoni cuts it straight to the fielder at backward point to be dismissed for the first time in the series. Dhoni walks back after scoring 36 from 55 balls to leave his team in complete shambles at 131 for seven in the 35th over.

Three singles from the last three balls of that over as India reach 123 for six in 32 overs.

R Ashwin comes ahead of Ravindra Jadeja but the promotion fails as he is dismissed off the very first delivery. He tries to play off the backfoot but misses the off-spinning delivery and is caught plumb in front of the wickets.
Ajmal on a hat-trick now!! The Nelson (111) has struck for India with two wickets in a row as India face another batting disaster.
Jadeja averts the hat-trick as he defends the last ball on the off-side.

The Pakistan spinners have continued to keep things tight by bowling a good line and length. Raina chips down the track but Hafeez again is quick to adjust his length and he can only defend it. Raina gets a single from the third ball before Hafeez bowls a wide down the leg side.
Dhoni then decides to break the shackles as he chips down the track and lofts it over midwicket for a six to take India past the 100-run mark. He repeats the dose off the next ball as he lofts it over long-on for another maximum and the crowd have woken up again and started cheering for India.

Gul then tries another short ball which Yuvraj looks to pull but misses and it is called a wide. Gul continues to drop it short and Yuvraj swats it back over the bowler's head for a boundary to bring up India's 50.
Gul switches to round the wicket and continues to bounce Yuvraj, who plays the pull again but it hits the toe of the bat and it goes on the bounce to mid-on.
Yuvraj is on fire at the moment as he drives it through the covers for a couple before Gul bowls a no-ball which Yuvraj turns on the leg side for one.
The free hit ball is smashed over midwicket for a four by Raina as India get 18 runs in that over to break the shackles.
Yuvraj has raced to 22 from 19 balls having hit four boundaries and Raina is on six from 17 balls. The duo have put on 24 from 5.3 overs to steady the innings.

India have scored just six runs from the last five overs, while losing a wicket.

Just one run from that over as India struggle to 43 for three after 13 overs. Raina is on 1 from 15 balls and Yuvraj on 11 from eight balls.

Raina is facing a testing spell out in the middle. He is waiting on the backfoot and is looking to play with a straight bat. New batsman Suresh Raina offers no shot to the first ball while the next delivery is a high bouncer which is called a wide. He lets the next ball go to the keeper before playing the last ball cautiously.
India are struggling at 38 for three in 10 overs.
Junaid has taken one for 11 in five overs, while Irfan has claimed two for 25 in five overs.

Yuvraj Singh starts off positively with two boundaries in a row. Irfan tries to bowl a yorker but it turns out to be a low full toss which Yuvraj eases through the covers and flicks the next delivery behind square on the leg side.

Junaid then drifts on the pads which Gambhir plays fine on the leg side where Umar Gul dives full length to stop a certain boundary. Gambhir and Kohli had a big misunderstanding as they went for the second run but Gul missed with the direct hit else India would have lost another wicket.
Gambhir is then beaten outside the off-stump as Junaid moves it away from the right-hander. He is lucky not to edge the last ball as he again tries to push at one outside the off-stump but it passes close to the edge.

Rahane looks to steer the ball to thirdman but it goes on the bounce to Younis Khan at second slip. Rahane then looks to turn it fine as it strikes his pads and goes to the fine leg region for two leg byes.

So India have a new opening combination as Ajinkya Rahane walks out to open the batting with Gautam Gambhir. Rahane is quite eager to get a piece of the action as he is way ahead of Gambhir as the teams walk out to the middle.
It's very cold and foggy in Delhi and not a single person in the crowd without a jacket. The floodlights are also on with so much of fog around. The weather forecast says high of 11 degrees and low of 6, so it is going cooler as the day goes on.
Mohammad Irfan to bowl the first over. Gambhir lets the first ball go through to the keeper and he turns the second ball on the leg side and third to mid-on.
Gambhir steers the fourth delivery to thirdman region for one and Rahane plays out the last two deliveries as just a single comes from the first over.
12:00 The team management finally lost patience with Sehwag, who has not enjoyed a good run with the bat in the last year or so.
Statistician Rajneesh Gupta points out Sehwag's poor run since the 2011 World Cup.
"After 2011 World Cup, Sehwag scored 513 runs in 15 ODIs (avg 34.20).43% of them came in just one inns (219 v West Indies). In the remaining 14 ODIs he made 294 runs @21.00" he writes.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the third and final One-Day International in Delhi, on Sunday.
India, who have already lost the series 2-0, made two changes to their team.
Ajinkya Rahane finally got a game and he replaced the out of form opener Virender Sehwag at his home ground Feroz Shah Kotla.
Pacer Shami Ahmed was handed his debut as he replaced fellow Bengal team-mate Ashok Dinda.
Pakistan made one change to their team, bringing in Umar Akmal in place of Azhar Ali.
