Malinga bowls Yadav for a duck to give Sri Lanka a huge victory as they crush India by 161 runs which also gives them the bonus point.

Jadeja is left stranded on 49 from 62 balls as India are bowled out in 44.5 overs.

World champion India, who recently won the ICC Champions Trophy, have lost both their matches in this tournament.

The absence of MS Dhoni was sorely felt by India as they came undone against Sri Lanka's batting might and their inexperienced bowling line-up suffered.

Herath was the most successful bowler for SL as he claimed three for 37, while Senanayake took two for 46 and Malinga got two for 40.

The match is out of India's reach with 176 runs needed from eight overs for victory. Jadeja having some fun out in the middle with a few boundaries. Malinga slides it down the leg side which Jadeja nudges fine on the leg side for a four and hits a full toss from Kulasekara over midwicket for another boundary in the next over.

Senanayake picks his first wicket as Ashwin plays the reverse sweep but gets a top edge and is caught by Malinga at short thirdman after scoring four from 13 balls.

Shami Ahmed falls off the very first delivery. He rocked back to play it on the leg side but the ball skidded through and hit the stumps.

India just going through the motions as they reach 159 for eight in 40 overs, with 190 needed from 10 overs for victory.

Senanayake finishes a good spell as he claimed two for 46 in 10 overs.

Herath to new batsman R Ashwin with a slip and silly point in place as Sri Lanka continue to look for wickets. Two runs from that over as India reach 145 for six in 35 overs.

Sri Lanka smashed 169 runs from their last 15 overs but even if India match that effort they will end up on the losing side with 204 needed from 15 overs.

The Batting Powerplay comes into effect. Senanayake comes back as Ashwin and Jadeja takes a single each in that over.

Indian batsmen can't fare any better against Malinga either as they pick five singles in his next over.

Raina brings some cheer to the Indian dressing room as he smashes a full delivery from Herath through the covers. Nine runs from Herath's eighth over but India look to be out of the running with 211 needed 17 overs for victory.

Mathews comes back for another spell. Raina tried to go for a third run after an overthrow but fell short of his crease to be run out for 33 from as many balls.

Herath cripples India further with the wicket of Karthik, who is beaten by one that goes straight as he charges down the track to be stumped for 22 from 41 balls.

Senanayake bowls a wide down the leg side as Raina misses the stumps and keeper Sangakkara fails to gather for five wides.

Raina then rocks back and cuts the fifth ball behind point for a boundary to get 11 runs from that over.

Herath replaces Malinga, after a good first spell of one for 24 in four overs. He makes a good start to his second spell with four singles in his fifth over.

Raina keeps the boundaries coming as he steers a wide delivery past short thirdman for his third four to take his score to 20. He survives a close shout for LBW later in the over as Senanayake deceives him with the straighter delivery that is a bit quicker and hits Raina in front of the stumps, but the umpire turns it down.

Karthik breaks the shackles as he flicks a full delivery from Maling through midwicket for a boundary but follows that up with three dot balls.

At the halfway stage, India are struggling on 95 for four, with 254 needed from 25 overs at an asking rate of 10.16 runs per over.

Karthik is on 17 from 33 balls, while Raina on nine from 11 balls.

Malinga bowls a poor delivery, a big wide down the leg side to Karthik which beats even keeper Sangakkara for five wides.

Senanayake comes back for his second spell. And he continues Sri Lanka's good showing with the ball giving away three singles as India struggle to make headway after those early wickets.

Malinga mixing it well against Karthik, good fast yorkers combined with quick bouncers in between. Karthik pulls the fifth ball to deep midwicket for one and Raina defends the last ball to mid-off.

After four good deliveries, Karthik takes one from the fifth ball before Suresh Raina smashes the last ball through the covers for a four.

Herath to Vijay, who is forced to defend the first three balls before taking a single, while Dinesh Karthik plays out the last two balls of the over.

Mathews follows it up with another tidy over, giving away just four runs as India continue to struggle with the bat.

Lasith Malinga is finally brought on, to bowl the 19th over. And he strikes in his very first over with the wicket of Vijay, who plays all over a full incoming delivery and is bowled after scoring 30 from 46 balls.

Suresh Raina gets off the mark with a single to midwicket before Karthik flicks a full toss behind square on the leg side for a four.

Mathews continues and he comes up with another tidy over, giving away four runs, as India struggle to 74 for four in 20 overs.

Herath has a huge appeal for both LBW and caught off an inside edge turned down by umpire Ian Gould against Vijay. He jumps down the track and hits it on the bounce to long-off for one.

Dhawan also comes down and tries to heave it on the leg side but is caught at deep midwicket after scoring 24 from 42 balls.

New batsman Virat Kohli gets off the mark with a single on the off-side before Vijay clips it to square leg for another single.

Mathews comes back but still no signs of Lasith Malinga yet. And the Sri Lankan captain strikes with the key wicket of Kohli, who pulls a short ball but is caught by Malinga on the fine leg boundary to be dismissed for two.

Spin from both ends now as left-armer Rangana Herath comes into the attack. India content to play the singles as Vijay drives the third ball to long-off for one and Dhawan turns it on the leg side for another single as just two runs come from that over.

India are 30 for one in 11 overs, scoring at 2.72 runs per over, while the asking rate has climbed to 8.17 runs per over.

Senanayake bowls another quiet over, giving away four singles along with a wide.

Vijay tries to break the shackles as he jumps down the track to Herath and lofts him over the cover region only for two runs and then takes a single.

Three more singles as six runs come from Herath's second over with Sri Lanka looking to build the pressure with some tight bowling.

Dhawan sweeps Senanayake for one and Vijay does the same but gets it finer for a boundary. Two balls later he gets down to the pitch of the delivery and lofts him over the cover fielder for another boundary as India finally look to force the issue. 10 runs from Senanayake's third over as India reach 50 for one after 14 overs.

Mathews continue to tie down the Indian batsmen as he bowls his second maiden over, to Vijay. The Sri Lankan captain has given away just eight runs in four overs as India reach 25 for one after eight overs.

Dhawan charges down the track to Kulasekara but fails to beat the fielder at short extra cover and does the same off the next ball but the point fielder stops it. He takes a single from the fifth ball to point for the only run of that over.

Sri Lanka introduce spin in the form of Sachithra Senanayake. Dhawan takes one from the first ball and Vijay does the same from the next delivery.

Dhawan struggles to get a run from the last four balls of that over, he is struggling on 18 from 34 balls, while Vijay is on four from 13 balls.
