Aus 426-6 (105 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Varun Aaron comes back into the attack and he could expect some help under the overcast conditions at the Adelaide Oval.

He switches to round the wicket and starts with a bouncer to Clarke, who ducks under and does the same to the next ball.

He pulls the third ball to deep square leg to move to 99. Smith slaps the fourth ball but India have a fielder at deep point so he gets just a single.

Another short ball which Clarke defends with a straight bat getting behind the line of the ball. He flicks the last ball to fine leg for a single to bring up his 28th Test century, from 182 balls.

A muted celebration from the Australian captain, kisses his helmet and appreciates the applause from the crowd.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Clarke after the passing away of Phil Hughes, his close friend and team mate. He has also been struggling with a back injury during this Test match but he has played a splendid innings to put Australia in a position of strength.
