Smith, Clarke push Australia on Day 2
December 10, 2014  05:58
Aus 374-6 (93 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

A disappointing start by Ishant Sharma as he bowls a half-tracker first up which is smashed through the covers for a boundary by Smith. The lanky pacer gets his bearings right for the rest of the over.

Shami repeats the dose in the next over as Clarke helps himself to an easy boundary through the off-side. Two balls later, he takes on a short ball and pulls it through midwicket for a couple to give ample proof that his back is fully functional now. Clarke then makes room and looks to steer it through point where Karn Sharma makes a good stop at point. The Australian captain then gets an inside edge which is brilliantly stopped by wicketkeeper Saha, diving to his left.

Ishant induces an edge from Smith, who looked to play the drive through the off-side but is fortunate to get a boundary on the leg side. But he plays a confident cover drive off the last ball for the same result as Australia look to adopt a positive approach on the second morning with 20 runs coming from the last three overs.
