A good over from Yadav, except for the two wides. Australia still in control with 45 needed from nine overs with six wickets in hand. India's only hope rests with taking a few wickets in the next couple of overs.

India still have no answers to Smith, who shuffles across and flicks Yadav through the leg side for a four to take his score to 29 from 32 balls. The pacers, except for Bhuvneshwar, have yet again been a disappointment and have gone for a lot of runs with some wayward bowling.

Finch keen not to let the part-timer Raina settle down. He goes down on one keen and lofts him down the ground for a six before Smith opens the face of the bat and steers the last ball square for a four as Australia reach 191 for two in 34 overs. While Watson (39 from 35 balls) has looked to play positive, Finch's strike rate has dipped alarmingly (38 from 69 balls) in the last few overs.

Patel bowls another tidy over, giving away three runs, as India employ some weird field placing including fielders placed at mid-off and long-off simultaneously.

The two spinners rushing through their overs. Ashwin nearly bowls another tidy over but is ruined by a boundary by Finch through the covers.

Dhoni's strange tactics have paid off. A packed off-side field meant that Watson was forced to hit across the line as he attempted the slog sweep against Patel but missed and is bowled after a quickfire 41 from 39 balls.

The next ball is short and wide as Finch cuts it behind point for a four as Australia reach 78 for one in 15 overs.
14:14
 Aus 62-1 (13 ovs) vs India 267-8 | Scorecard

Bhuvneshwar is taken off after a good first spell of 17 runs from six overs before he makes way for Axar Patel, who will bowl for the first time in Australia.

The first ball is short and wide as Watson rocks back and cuts it behind point for a boundary. Patel manages to make a good comeback and gives just a single for the rest of the over as Australia reach 62 for one in 13 overs.

 Aus 49-0 (8 ovs) vs India 267-8 | Scorecard

Shami makes a good comeback after a poor first over. In his second, he gives away just two singles and sticks to a tight line and length at a good pace. If India can manage to string a few tight overs, they could force the batsmen to take some risks and maybe take a wicket or two.

Even though Bhuvneshwar lacks a bit in pace, he has shown tremendous control with the new ball. He is yet to concede a boundary in four overs, giving away just 14 runs but runs have leaked from the other end.

13:40
 Aus 18-0 (2 ovs) vs India 267-8 | Scorecard

Umesh Yadav to bowl the second over. He went for plenty of runs in the Test series and would be hoping to put in a good showing in the ODIs.

The first ball is on the pads as Warner clips it behind square for two runs and edges the third ball but it goes past the slips for a single.

Yadav then offers Finch some width as the right-hander slashes at it but gets a bottom edge which flies over the slips for a four. The next ball is off the mark and is called a wide outside the off-stump before Finch makes most of width and crashes it through the covers for the second four of the over.

12:51
India 267-8 (50 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Rohit (138) and Raina (51) were the only two to score 20 runs or more for the Indians as the rest of the batsmen disappointed on a good wicket for batting.

Starc kept the Indians in check as he claimed six for 43 in 10 overs.

India must have been disappointed not to finish strongly as they managed just 30 runs in the last five overs. Even in the Batting Powerplay they failed to get going and scored 19 runs in those five overs.

India's bowling is a big worry and Australia, with their strong batting line-up, would definitely fancying their chances of chasing down this total.

India 237-6 (45 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

Starc claims the big wicket of Dhoni, who inside edges the slower ball back on to his stumps as he tries the big heave to be bowled for 19.

That is a very wicket under the circumstances considering that Dhoni is capable of producing the big hits in the last few overs.

Axar Patel comes in to bat at No. 7 ahead of Ashwin but he last just two balls before he is trapped leg before wicket by a full swinging delivery. The ball came in sharply into the left-hander, whose bat was nowhere close to the ball as India are in danger of losing their way in the last few overs.

Interestingly, Hawk Eye shows the ball might have missed the leg stump by a big margin but no DRS being used in the series so India can't review it.

A double wicket maiden from Starc, whose figures are excellent so far, having taken four for 39 in nine overs including two maidens.

India are 237 for six in 45 overs and their hopes rest on Rohit, who is batting on 127 from 131 balls with Ashwin at the other end.

India must be fancying their chances of getting to 300 or above it with the batting Powerplay yet to be taken.

Watson comes back, replacing Sandhu, who bowled seven overs for 34 runs for one wicket. A tidy over from Watson conceding just three runs but India will be happy with their recent progress, having scored 32 runs from the last five overs.

Starc is back too. The first ball is short which Rohit tucks on the leg side for a single. Raina takes a single to complete his fifty, from 61 balls, to play a key role in India's revival and make a good comeback after his twin failures in the Sydney Test. India have reached 153 for three in 30 overs. Rohit has played a superb innings of 77 from 90 balls, while Raina has given the innings momentum with his fluent knock of 43 from 48 balls with the duo putting on 94 runs so far.

Sandhu comes back and he nearly strikes with the wicket of Rohit, who is caught in the crease but is perhaps struck high on the pads. Rohit jumps down the track and hoists the third ball down the ground for a six to bring up his fifty in some style, from 68 balls. He turns the next ball to midwicket for two runs before taking a single from the last ball.

Some drama off the last ball after Rohit took the single from the last ball which was an overthrow as the fielder attempted a hit at the stumps but it deflected off the batsman and beat Haddin who was covering it. The Australian fielders are unhappy with Rohit, who took a single from that throw.

Watson bowling a long first spell as Bailey is happy to continue with the bulky pacer not giving too many runs. He has bowled seven overs for 30 runs and is doing the fifth bowler's job to perfection.

India 89-3 (20 ovs) vs Aus | Scorecard

The extra pace of Cummins will surely test Raina, especially the short balls. But the left-hander plays a thumping pull shot off the front foot through midwicket for a boundary, his first of the innings. The next ball is short and quicker but it slips down the leg side and is called a wide.

Raina growing in confidence as he lofts a full delivery from Watson back over his head for a four. He pulls a short ball and manages to keep it down for a single to fine leg before Rohit plays out the rest of the over.

After 20 overs, India are 89 for three, with Rohit on 43 from 60 balls and Raina on 14 from 18 balls.

Rohit breaks the shackles as he pulls a short ball from Starc over the fine leg fielder for a six. He takes a single from the last ball to retain strike.

Rohit retains strike with a single from the last ball of the over.

Suresh Raina, who was out for a pair in the Sydney Test, walks out to bat with India needing a big partnership to get back into the match.

James Faulkner comes into the attack after a good first spell from Cummins, who bowled four overs for 19 runs.

Kohli flicks the second ball fine for two runs and makes the crease in time despite a direct hit from the deep. He then drives it down the ground as the fielder at mid-off half stops it for another couple before he picks another two from the next ball on the leg side to get eight runs from the over.

Another bowling change for Australia as Shane Watson is the fifth bowler to come into the attack, to bowl the 12th over.

He gets extra bounce but Rohit manages to steer it fine on the off-side for a single and Kohli picks a single on the leg side and his partner also takes one for three runs from the over.

Pat Cummins to bowl the second over. Rahane gets off the mark with two runs courtesy of a punch down the ground past mid-on. In the next over from Starc he throws his bat at a wide delivery but gets an inside edge which goes past the stumps behind the wickets for the first boundary of the Indian innings.

Two balls later, he again slashes at a wide delivery, this time he gets it past point as Steve Smith attempts a full delivery dive but can't save the boundary.

The last ball is full and Rahane goes for another drive but this time is beaten.
08:58   Dhawan out for 2, India lose early wicket
India 4-1 (1 ov) vs Aus | Scorecard

Dhawan, who walks out to open the batting with Rohit, will be under immense pressure following his failures in the Test series. What will add to it is Rahane's good form as an opener in the home series against Sri Lanka recently.

Mitchell Starc to bowl the first over. The first ball is short and Rohit tucks it off the hips for a single before Dhawan gets an edge past the slips for two runs.

Dhawan is beaten by a full delivery, a low full toss, which strikes him on the pads but the huge appeal for LBW is turned down. The left-hander is lucky to survive that appeal.

However, he last just two more deliveries. After being beaten by one outside the off-stump he edges the next ball to be caught at second slip for two.

Dhawan looked all at sea against Starc and his weakness outside the off-stump and poor run with the bat continues. His scores in Australia since the start of the Test series reads: 9, 25, 81, 24, 0, 28 and 2.

Ajinkya Rahane is promoted to No. 3. Starc bowls another good full delivery which hits Rahane on the pads and gets India a leg bye.
