Kayes, Sarkar steady Bangladesh on Day 5
June 14, 2015  13:10

B'desh 164-4 (44 ovs) vs India 462-6d | Scorecard

If India don't strike a few quick wickets in the next few hours, it would turn into a boring contest with nothing left to play for either team.

Ashwin starts his new over with a loose delivery, short and on the pads, as Sarkar pulls it square on the leg side for a four.

Two balls later, he lofts a full delivery over mid-on for another boundary as Bangladesh's batsmen continue to take risks and keep the Indian bowlers interested.

Kayes plays the sweep against Harbhajan but gets a top edge which falls safely on the leg side for two runs. The next ball comes off the middle as the left-hander drives it through the off-side for a four to take his score to 70.

Ashwin bowls another ripper, pitching on the leg stump and turning miles to go past the edge of Kayes's bat outside the off-stump. This is wonderful stuff from the off-spinner!

Sarkar goes after a wide delivery from Harbhajan as he steers it for a boundary through the vacant thirdman region. Two balls later he slaps another wide delivery through the covers for a four as Yadav at mid-on fails to make his dive on time and ends up looking quite silly.

Bangladesh's approach has been quite positive, looking to score at every possible minute and not let the Indian spinners settle down.
