Amla, du Plessis lead SA's fighback to frustrate India
November 27, 2015  13:16

SA 126-4 (64 ovs); Target: 310 | Scorecard

The first hour of the post-lunch session has been a rather sedate one, with not a single wicket falling in 19 overs in which South Africa have managed just 21 runs.

Run scoring is not a priority at the moment, with the focus just on surviving and grinding out the Indian bowlers into submission.

The pitch is still offering lot of turn but it has slowed down considerably and as Faf and Amla have proved once you get your eye in, it is difficult to get through the defences.

Ashwin was right on the mark in his assessment of the pitch on Day 2: "When you put your feet down and defend properly it is still quite a hard wicket to get through the defence. This wicket is getting sluggish by the day. It is pretty dry, it is pretty slow."
