SA 40-3 (18 ovs); Target: 310 | Scorecard

Ishant opens the bowling for India on Day 3. The second ball cuts in sharply, beating Amla, who plays inside the line. There seems to be some swing for the pace bowler but Amla seems to be comfortable batting against him.

Ashwin comes on from the other end. He beats Elgar with one that turns big before the left-hander gets a thick outside edge to point for a single.

Ishant getting good movement as Elgar is beaten outside the off-stump but edges the next ball which falls short of the fielder at second slip.

A quiet start to the morning as South Africa looking to defend everything bowled at them.

Elgar breaks the shackles as he slog sweeps Ashwin over midwicket for a six. Some positive intent from the South Africans but that was a risky shot and if he had missed it, that could have proved to be very costly.

Ashwin gets his revenge two balls later as Elgar is caught at silly point for 18. He looked to defend but got an inside edge which is taken by Pujara as Elgar walks back disappointed.

It does not take long for the Indians to strike as Ashwin strikes in the fourth over of the day.
