India 277-3 (96 ovs) vs WI 196 | Scorecard

No surprise that West Indies have taken the second new ball straightaway after the tea interval.

It is Shannon Gabriel who will start off with the new ball to kick off the post tea session.

The first ball is full and right in the slot as Rahul comes forward and drives it in some style through the covers for a four to begin the session in confident fashion.

India will look at scoring at a brisk rate in the post tea session and end up on somewhere close to the 400-run mark at stumps without losing too many wickets.

Kohli is hit on the fingers by a throw from the fielder at midwicket as he tries for a single but is sent back and receives the throw on his fingers.

Cummins to share the second new ball as he bowls at Kohli's pads who flicks it square for two runs.

The fast bowler bowls a big wide down the leg side which goes for five wides. Infact, Cummins pulls up after bowling that delivery and he looks to be in some pain, maybe some cramps.

He receives some treatment before he has to walk off the field, thereby adding to the West Indies's woes.

Holder takes over from the injured, bowling the remaining two deliveries to complete the 93rd over.

Gabriel drifts on the pads as Rahul glances it fine on the leg side for a four with the fine leg fielder placed a bit square.

The fast bowler has come close to getting an edge a few times but hasn't enjoyed any luck.

Rahul is beaten outside the off-stump as he pokes his bat at a wide one before there is an appeal for a catch down the leg side.

Umpire Aleem Dar refers the appeal to the television umpire and immediately gives a soft signal that it is not out.

Rahul tries to glance it but misses the flick and the ball is taken down the leg side by wicketkeeper Dowrich. There looks to be some sort of deflection in the replays but without a snickometre or the Hotspot it is difficult to ascertain conclusively whether there was an edge on that.

What did umpire Dar refer the appeal to the third umpire for? Was that to ascertain if there was an edge or whether the catch was taken cleanly? Interestingly, his soft signal was a not out, so it remains to be seen what the final decision will be.

And the third umpire confirms that there was an edge and Rahul has to walk back after being ruled out caught behind.

Rahul perishes after a superb innings of 158 from 303 balls, having hit 15 fours and three sixes.

Rahul definitely looked like he had got an edge but umpire Dar's soft signal left everyone confused.
