Rahul's century puts India in control on Day 2

India 246-2 (88 ovs) vs WI 196 | Scorecard

West Indies are not taking the new ball straightaway as Cummins continues with the old ball.

Cummins beats Rahul with a full incoming delivery as the India opener looks to hit it across the line but is beaten and the appeal for LBW is turned down.

Rahul comes down the track to Bishoo and lofts him high over long-off for his third six. Two balls later, the leggie pitches short but Rahul can't beat the fielder at midwicket and misses out on an easy boundary.

Wonder why West Indies are delaying taking the second new ball? Are they content keeping the runs down and not looking to go for wickets at this stage?

Infact, West Indies skipper Holder is off the ground and maybe they are waiting for him to come back on the field.

Part-time off-spinner Brathwaite replaces Bishoo, who has bowled 14 overs for 46 runs.

West Indies seem content to sit back and hope for things to happen rather than try something to make their way back into the contest.

India may be scoring slowly but are steadily taking control of the match and getting into a position from where they will dictate the shots and West Indies will have no option but to fight for survival.

Off-spinner Chase comes on from the other end as Kohli decides it's time to put some energy back into the innings.

He lofts Chase over mid-on for his first boundary from the 34th ball he faces to take his score to 12.

India are milking the two spinners with relative ease to take their score to 246 for two in 88 overs, stretching their lead to 50 runs.
