RAIN STOPS PLAY!

WI 6-1 (3 ovs) & 196 vs India 500-9d | Scorecard

So, play finally starts in Jamaica as the two West Indies openers Kraigg Brathwaite and Rajendra Chandrika walk out to open the batting.

West Indies face a huge deficit of 304 runs and will need to bat out of their skin to even draw this match, for which they will need a lot of help from the weather.

Ishant Sharma to bowl the first over. Brathwaite slaps the fourth ball, which is short and a bit wide, through the covers but the heavy outfield keeps him down to two runs as the hosts get off the mark.

Mohammad Shami to bowl the second over. Chandrika turns the first ball on the leg side for a single before Brathwaite pulls a short ball behind square for two runs.

Ishant strikes in his second over. Chandrika looks to leave a slightly short ball but ends up getting hit on the elbow to deflect it back on to his stumps to be dismissed for one as West Indies suffer an early blow.

Ishant round the wicket to left-hander Darren Bravo, who turns the last ball on the leg side for a single to get off the mark.

And the rain is back at Sabina Park as the players are forced off the field for another rain interval. Only 15 minutes of play was possible in which India bowled three overs, claiming an early wicket.

The rain has got quite heavy now as the groundstaff are scurrying out on the middle with the covers and in a few minutes it stops raining!
