10:18   India destroy England at Wankhede to win series 3-0

INDIA WIN SERIES 3-0

England 195-all out (55.3 ovs) & 400 vs India 631 | Scorecard

Fittingly, it is Ashwin who claims the final wicket as Anderson is caught on the leg side for two as England are bowled out for 195, to lose the match by an innings and 36 runs.

India clinch the five-match series 3-0 with one match still left in the series, starting in Chennai, on Friday.

Ashwin finished with splendid figures of six for 55 to finish with 12 wickets in the match as India crushed England by an innings and 36 runs to win the Test series 3-0, in Mumbai, on Monday.

England, who resumed on 182 for six, lasted just 32 minutes on Day 5. The visitors lost six wickets for 15 runs in 49 balls with Ashwin claiming all four wickets to fall in the day.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co. take a victory lap around the Wankhede acknowledging the Mumbai crowd for their support.

England 194-9 (54 ovs) & 400 vs India 631 | Scorecard

England have lost four wickets for nine runs in the space of nearly eight overs as India swoop in on an emphatic series victory.

Jadeja makes a valiant effort to his left on his follow through but can't hold on as Adil Rashid plays an uppish drive back down the pitch.

England are going down tamely here as Rashid hits one straight down the throat of the fielder at square leg to perish for two as Ashwin completes another five wicket haul.

India are just one wicket away from victory, while England need 38 runs to avoid the innings defeat.

Interestingly, war of words straightaway between Ashwin and James Anderson as the latter walks out to bat. He had made some remarks on Virat Kohli's batting after close of play on Day 4 and surely Ashwin looks displeased.

Even at the end of the over, Jadeja and Ashwin have a go at Anderson and then captain Virat Kohli joins the act as the umpires jump in to get the game underway.

England 189-8 (52 ovs) & 400 vs India 631 | Scorecard

Ashwin continues his wicket way as he bowls Chris Woakes for a duck to complete his 10-wicket haul in the match.

The right-hander went for a drive against the spin but was beaten and the ball sneaked in through the big gate to crash into the stumps.

India set for an early finish as England are reduced to 189 for eight in 52 overs, with another 42 runs needed to avoid the innings defeat.

England 185-7 (50 ovs) & 400 vs India 631 | Scorecard

Ashwin strikes early, takes just nine deliveries to claim the key wicket of Jonny Bairstow, who is trapped leg before wicket for 51.

Bairstow had no clue to Ashwin's carrom delivery which went the other way and struck him on the back foot as he played down the wrong line, right in front of the stumps.

Superb bowling from the India off-spinner, who claimed his third wicket of the innings and the ninth of the match.

Bairstow was having a few problems with Ashwin in that over as England are reduced to 185 for seven in 50 overs, still needing 46 runs to avoid the innings defeat.

At stumps on Day 4, England were reduced to 182 for six in 47.3 overs, still needing another 49 runs to avoid the humiliation of an innings defeat.

Jonny Bairstow kept England afloat with a fighting half-century as he stroked 50 not out. He had put on 92 runs for the fourth wicket with Joe Root, who made 77, to rally England after they had lost a few early wickets.

Ashwin and Jadeja picked up two wickets each, while Jayant and Bhuvneshwar bagged a wicket each.

Jayant hit his maiden Test century, as he played a superb knock of 104 runs, hitting 15 fours in his 204-ball knock.
