Stokes walks across his stumps and whips a full delivery from Yadav from outside the off-stump over the fine leg fence for a four. The next ball is short but he misses the pull shot and is hit on the gloves as Yadav makes a good comeback, conceding just two more for the rest of the over.

Cook goes for a big hit down the ground but is caught at long-off after a good innings of 130, hitting 13 fours in his 243-ball knock, to give Ashwin his first wicket of the innings after 23.3 overs.

That wicket sees England declare on 260-3, setting India a target a 310 for victory with 49 overs left in the day.

England scored 49 runs in 57 balls in the post-lunch session to give their bowlers a chance to push for victory.
