India 313-3 (104 ovs) vs NZ | Scorecard

Off-spinner Jeetan Patel comes in for the first time on Day 2 as he replaces Santner. Kohli drives the first ball down the ground to long-on for a single to raise the 300-run mark for India in the 99th over and also bring up the 200-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Henry continues his short ball tactics against Rahane who looks to pull but fails to get it off the middle before he lets one go through and the next one too.

He is unsure about the short balls as he has another swipe but can't make proper connection before he steers another short ball to thirdman for two runs.

Rahane again pulls the last ball but can't find the gap on the leg side and another single in the next over off Patel takes him to 99.

Change in the bowling as Trent Boult replaces Rahane and no surprise he starts with a short ball. It is not as quick as Henry and Rahane easily pulls it on the leg side for a single to bring up his century from 210 balls, his eight ton in Tests.

It was not an easy landmark for the Mumbai right-hander and he was made to work really hard by the Kiwi bowlers especially the fast bowlers as they peppered him with short balls at his body.

In the first hour on Day 2, India have made 46 runs in 14 overs to reach 313 for three in 104 overs with Kohli on 125 and Rahane on 103 as the duo have so far put on 213 runs for the fourth wicket.
