Pune 24-1 (4 ovs) vs Sunrisers 176-3 | Scorecard

The in-form Bhuvneshwar Kumar to open the bowling for Sunrisers, who will be looking for a couple of early wickets. Having fielded an inexperienced bowling line-up in this match, Sunrisers need Bhuvneshwar to shoulder the burden of the bowling.

Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi take the sensible approach as they take just one run from the first run, with the former taking a single from the fourth ball.

Spin from the other end as left-armer Bipul Sharma comes into the bowl the second over. He also makes a tidy start, conceding just four runs in his second over.

After a couple of quiet overs, Tripathi decides to cut loose and goes after Bhuvneshwar. He comes down the track, makes room before he smashes Bhuvi through the covers for the first four of Pune's innings and two balls later manages to steer it fine on the off-side for another boundary.

He comes down and has another wild swing but this time he is unable to make a connection. Tripathi gets the fifth ball fine on the leg side for a couple as 10 come from the over.

Rahane has struggled to get going. He looks to attack Bipul but is beaten in the flight and ends up spooning a simple catch to the fielder at mid-on to be dismissed for two.

Tripathi sweeps the next ball behind square on the leg side for a four and two balls later picks a single.

New batsman Steve Smith takes no time to get going. He defends the first ball he faces before lofting Bipul back over his head for a four to get off the mark in style.
