India 38-0 (7 ovs) vs SL | Scorecard

Rahul comes down the track to Herath but gets an inside edge on the leg side. He then cuts a short ball but the fielder at point does well to put in the dive and save some runs. He defends the last two balls to see off a maiden over from Herath.

Pradeep tries a short ball to Dhawan, who easily pulls it square on the leg side for a four to continue his positive start.

There is a huge appeal for LBW off the last ball against Rahul but the right-hander got an inside edge off a full delivery from Pradeep.

Rahul gets his first boundary as he cuts a short ball from Herath past point for a four. He drives the next ball on the off-side but the fielder at mid-off slips and gives away another four.

Dhawan looking in ominous touch as far as Sri Lanka are concerned. A slightly wide delivery from Pradeep is hammered through the covers for a four by the left-hander as he races to 25 from 23 balls, having hit four fours and a six already.

The fifth ball is again driven through the covers but this time only for a couple. He looks to flick the last ball across the line on the leg side but misses as Pradeep appeals for leg before wicket but umpire turns it down.

India off to a quick start as they race to 38 for no loss in seven overs with Dhawan on 27 and Rahul on 11.
