India 231-7 (44.3 ovs) vs SL 236-8 | Scorecard

Bhuvneshwar Kumar hit an unbeaten half-century, his first in ODIs, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a composed innings of 45 not out as India survived a sensational batting collapse to outclass Sri Lanka by seven wickets via the Duckworth-Lewis method to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Bhuvneshwar finished unbeaten on 53 from 80 balls as the duo were involved in an unbroken stand of 100 runs from 135 balls for the eighth wicket.

India thus registered their 16th win in their last 20 ODIs against Sri Lanka.

They rescued India after they were tottering on 131 for seven at one stage courtesy of mystery spinner Akila Dananjaya, who picked up six for 54 in 10 overs.

India were cruising on 109 for no loss at one stage before they lost seven wickets for 22 runs in the space of six overs.

Rohit stroked a quickfire 54 from 45 balls, while Dhawan made 49 before KL Rahul, Kedar Jadhav, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel perished cheaply.
