Aus 99-3 (31 ovs) & 260 vs India 105 | Scorecard

Jadeja beats Smith twice in the over with deliveries that spin sharply past the edge of the bat. Infact, Jadeja appeals off the second ball as the Indians think about taking the DRS but wicketkeeper Saha is not too convinced.

Smith then gets an edge which goes past the slip fielder for a couple as the Australian captain takes a risk while going for the second run.

Matt Renshaw looks desperate to get off the mark as after defending a couple of deliveries, he looks to reverse Ashwin but can't get past point.

Jadeja finally strikes as Renshaw goes for the sweep but misses and is given out leg before wicket. He immediately goes for the review.

There is no bat involved which is confirmed by the Ultra Edge. The ball tracker shows the impact is in line but the ball is bouncing over the stumps which means Renshaw survives.

The tall left-hander finally gets the reverse sweep right as he hits it past the fielder at first slip for a four.

Renshaw gets into a tangle as he looks to sweep but has to change the shot at the last minute as he gets an inside edge for a four fine on the leg side.

He inside edges again two balls later for a single and Smith sweeps the last ball to deep square leg for one.

Finally, the first bowling change for India after a long wait of 27 overs as pacer Umesh Yadav is called into the attack.

Renshaw, who is struggling with a stomach bug, seems to be again in trouble as he looks pretty uncomfortable out in the middle. Yadav bowls a short ball which he looks to fend but is struck on the forearm and the physio comes out to attend.

Smith, on 37, gets a third lifeline as substitute Mukund at short leg puts down an easy chance the ball comes off the inside edge and the pads. The bowler Ashwin and captain Kohli can't believe he has put down such a straight forward chance. He was earlier dropped on 23 and 29 by Vijay and Mukund.

Smith keeps the runs coming as he steers Umesh through the gully region for a four and then takes a single.

The Australia captain goes past 1000 Test runs against India in just seven Tests, at a stunning average of 91.

Renshaw gives Ashwin the charge and flicks him through midwicket for a four and lofts the next ball over mid-on for another boundary.

The left-hander comes down the track again and flicks it to deep square leg for two runs as Ashwin goes for 13 in the over.

Australia are 99 for three in 31 overs, as the lead swells to 254 runs with Smith on 45 and Renshaw on 24.
