March 20, 2017  15:34

Aus 180-4 (87 ovs) & 451 vs India 603-9d | Scorecard

Ashwin, who picked up just one wicket in 34 overs in the first innings, has been unable to take any wickets in 22 overs in the second innings so far.

Ashwin and Jadeja rushing through their overs as India look to complete the 80 overs and take the second new ball as soon as possible.

India take the second new ball immediately as Ashwin continues. Marsh defends the first four balls before he takes one on the leg side from the fifth ball.

Marsh picks another single off Jadeja in the next over to inch closer to his fifty before Handscomb defends the remaining five deliveries of the over.

The two batsmen have played out 53 overs between them putting on 109 runs to slowly but steadily help Australia inch closer towards saving the match.

Ashwin strikes Marsh on the pads as the left-hander looks to flick it across the line but the LBW is turned down. Ashwin forces his captain Kohli to take the DRS which shows the ball would have clipped the outside half of leg stump which means the umpire's decision stays.

The spinners have not been able to make an impression with the second new ball and both Marsh and Handscomb look very comfortable.

Marsh gives Ashwin the charge and drives it through the covers for a four to bring up his fifty in grand style, from 190 balls.

Australia are 180 for four in 87 overs, with a minimum of 11 overs and around an hour's play left in the day.
