Aus 101-4 (44 ovs) & 451 vs India 603-9d | Scorecard

Umesh kicks off proceedings after the lunch break. Handscomb guides the fourth ball to thirdman for a single and Marsh picks up two leg byes despite missing the fine flick on the leg side off the last ball.

Ashwin bowled just one over in the morning session and he gets into the attack right away after lunch, replacing Jadeja, who bowled 18 overs in his first spell.

Handscomb gets an inside edge but it flies wide of the fielder at leg slip to give him one. The last ball is tucked through midwicket by Marsh to pick up three runs and also keep the strike.

In his next over, Ashwin induces another inside edge off Handscomb as the ball pops to Karun Nair at short leg, who barely has time to react as he does well to stay low and gets his hands to it but is unable to hold on.

India will need to show a lot of patience and gradually work towards getting their wickets which they did so well in the morning session.

Umesh bowls a good yorker to Handscomb who plays back and is lucky to have got an inside edge which saves him from a good leg before shout. The next ball holds its line as the right-hander edges it but it goes on the bounce to second slip who half stops it for a single.

Marsh is looking in good touch as he plays a nice straight drive for his third boundary to take his score to 22.

Handscomb gives Ashwin the charge and nearly hits the full toss to the fielder at short midwicket but he manages to play out the rest of the over.

Ashwin not creating as many problems for the batsmen as Jadeja did in the morning session. Marsh looks to maintain his positive approach as he gives Ashwin the charge and hits him down the ground past mid-on for a four.

While Handscomb has looked to defend everything to score eight from 43 balls, Marsh has looked for runs, hitting 27 from 49 balls, with four boundaries.

Australia are 101 for four in 44 overs, still trailing India by 51 runs.
