India 248-6 (91 ovs) vs Aus 300 | Scorecard

Nathan Lyon produced an impressive spell of spin bowling to lead Australia's fightback and leave the Test match evenly poised at close on Day 2.

Off-spinner Lyon claimed four for 67 in 28 overs to reduce India to 248 for six in 91 overs at stumps on the second day, trailing Australia by 52 runs.

India were comfortably placed at 153 for two at the break before Lyon revived Australia with the wickets of Pujara, Karun, Rahane and Ashwin.

Pujara fell in the first over of the post-tea session for 57, while Karun perished after scoring just five to continue his poor showing in the series.

Rahane failed to carry on after getting off to a start after he was caught at slip for 46, while Ashwin was trapped leg before wicket for 30.

Jadeja's positive knock saw India steady things somewhat before stumps as he stroked an entertaining 16 not out with two sixes, while Saha was unbeaten on a patient innings of 10.

The first hour on Day 3 will hold the key. If India manage to see off Australia's pacers who have the new ball then they could go on to take the lead. The visitors have a real chance of bowling out the Indians quickly and grab the lead which could prove vital on this pitch, starting to play tricks and getting difficult for batsmen.
