SL 75-7 (26.3 ovs); Target to win: 231 | Scorecard

The umpires call the players off the field as the Test finishes in a thrilling draw.

Sri Lanka finish on 75 for seven in 26.3 overs to escape with a tense draw, saved only by the fading light in Kolkata.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled his heart out, claiming four for eight in 11 overs, and Shami bowled a splendid spell to claim two for 34 as the two pacers made life hell for batsmen on a placid fifth day wicket.

And for the first time in India in a Test match, an Indian spinner failed to take a wicket in a Test match. Infact, Ashwin didn't bowl a single over in the second innings while Jadeja got just one over.

Earlier, captain Virat Kohli led a stunning India fightback against Sri Lanka with a superb unbeaten hundred.

Kohli propped up his side's batting with an unbeaten 104 to register his 18th Test hundred, and 50th across formats, after paceman Suranga Lakmal's inspired spell in the first session had lifted Sri Lanka in the morning session.

India, however, rode out the storm before declaring their second innings on 352 for eight immediately after Kohli hit a six to get to three figures, setting Sri Lanka 231 for victory.
