India 455-4 (140 ovs) vs SL 205 | Scorecard

Off-spinner Perera to start off with the ball after the lunch break. Rahane turns the third ball to the leg side for a single to get off the mark and Kohli takes one two balls later for his first runs of the second session.

Pacer Gamage from the other end. Three singles from the over as India look to keep the scoreboard ticking and build the total.

Perera bowls a full toss but Rahane is unable to make most as he gently drives it to the fielder in the covers. And that proves to be crucial as Perera strikes with the next ball as Rahane cuts one straight to the fielder to perish for two to continue his run of poor scores in the series.

Comeback man Rohit Sharma, playing his first Test after a long wait of 13 years, gets off the mark in style. He drives a full delivery from Perera through the covers for a four to start off in confident fashion.

Rohit punches another short ball through the off-side for three runs as the fielder stops it inside the ropes. Kohli steers the next ball through the off-side for two runs and keeps strike with one from the last ball.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka endure another blow as pacer Gamage injures his knee as he slides across at mid-on to stop the drive from Rohit.

With Gamage going off with injury, infact being helped off the ground by the support staff, pacer Lakmal comes into the attack.

Kohli chips down the track and lofts Lakmal over mid-off for a four before he takes a single on the leg side and Rohit blocks the rest of the over.

Since his arrival, Kohli has been quite match aware and not even once during his stay he has let the momentum dip, hitting boundaries at regular intervals.

His positive approach helped Pujara play the patient innings that he did, grinding his way to a hundred while Kohli played the shots at the other end.

Rohit also shows his positive side as he comes down the track and lofts Perera over mid-on for a six.

In the next over, Rohit has a close shave as he inside edges Lakmal but the ball narrowly misses the stumps and goes for a four fine on the leg side.

Kohli takes on Perera as he chips down the track and lofts him down the ground, just about clearing the fielder at long-on for a six to bring up his 150 in grand style.

The India captain brings up his landmark from 193 balls, having hit 14 fours and a six. That also takes India past the 450-run mark as their lead also goes above the 250-run mark.
