India captain Virat Kohli has won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand in the first ODI in Mumbai.

A victory for India in the series opener will help the hosts regain the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI rankings.

The experienced Dinesh Karthik comes into the playing eleven in place of Manish Pandey in the middle order, while Shikhar Dhawan takes his place at the top of the order in place of Ajinkya Rahane.

A strong bowling attack featuring wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav along with two pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
