Kohli releases some pressure as he smashes Milne through the covers for a four, his first of the innings after facing 18 deliveries.

Three singles before Jadhav looks to avoid a short ball but it strikes his body and goes between the slips and the wicketkeeper for four leg byes.

New Zealand introduce spin as left-armer Mitchell Santner comes into the attack. Kohli continues to be cautious as he plays two dot balls before taking a single from the third ball followed by two more singles as just three come from the over as India cross the 50-run mark, in the 12th over.

India struggling to lift the tempo with Kohli and Jadhav content to play it safe and build the innings in the middle overs.

All-rounder medium pacer Colin de Grandhommec comes into the attack and India finally manage to get some tempo back. Two singles before Kohli slaps a wide delivery past point for a four and then opens the face of the bat and steers the next fine on the off-side for the same result.

Kohli drives the fifth ball down to long-on for one and Jadhav does the same as 12 come from the over. 30 runs from the last five overs as India reach 67 for two in 15 overs with Kohli on 26 and Jadhav on eight.
