India 17-0 (4 ovs) vs NZ 230-9 | Scorecard

Tim Southee to open the bowling for New Zealand and he makes a perfect start with a maiden over to Rohit, who does well to leave four out of the six deliveries not wanting to fall to the temptation so early.

Trent Boult to bowl the second over. Shikhar Dhawan goes hard at the first delivery, which is short and wide, as he gets a thick outside edge which flies over the slips for a four to get India off the mark.

He then takes a single before Rohit clips the fifth ball past midwicket for three runs to get eight runs from the over. Infact, a better throw from the deep and Dhawan could have been in trouble as he casually jogged through the second run before pushing the tempo for the third.

After a good first over, Southee starts his second with a poor delivery. Rohit needs no second invitation as he pulls a short ball over square leg for a boundary. Southee immediately realises his mistakes and pitches the deliveries up for the rest of the over and the Mumbai batsman is content to leave.

Dhawan starts off the next over with a boundary too as he flicks a full delivery from Boult through square leg for a four. Dhawan picks a single before Rohit is beaten by one which swings across him.

India are off to a confident start as they reach 17 for no loss in four overs.
