September 04, 2017  12:50
Sony Pictures Network and Star TV are the only two companies whose bids have been found eligible as far as the broadcast rights for India for the next five seasons of the IPL are concerned.

Sony broadcast the first ten seasons of IPL after a successful bid of Rs. 8200 crore in 2008.

Star TV has the broadcast rights for all the international matches played in India and also the ICC events including all the World Cups.

The BCCI's legal experts evaluated the bids among the 14 bidders after which the bids from Star and Sony were found eligible.
