Star TV wins IPL broadcast rights for Rs. 16,347.50 crore

Star TV wins the Indian Premier League media rights including broadcast and digital rights for Rs 16,347.50 crore for a five-year period from 2018 to 2022.

Sony was the previous broadcaster for the first ten seasons of IPL after a successful bid of Rs. 8200 crore in 2008.
